Green Comet 20 Feb

I have been waiting for a cloudless night to get one final look at the Green Comet (C/2022 E3) before it leaves us. It won’t return for another 50,000 years.

Luckily it was clear in the West Desert last night and I used my equatorial mount to capture 24 exposures of 5 minutes each. For the still image I stacked them and processed them into a single exposure. For the video, I just did a quick process in lightroom and then made a video of the 24 separate images. The streaks in the video are satellites and the last few frames are getting ruined by clouds coming in. All frames were taken with my Nikon 500mm lens, Nikon D850 camera, ISO 500, at f5.6.
